We survived!

Dear Maizy,

We survived the holiday!! YAY!!!  Everyone we came in contact with loved on you, hugged you and kissed you! There were times I wasn't sure if I'd ever get you back! You handled it all very well.
Christmas Eve day we ran around like crazy. You went to Grandma Donker's while me, your dad and Cameron went to a really funny play at Desert Star Playhouse with Grandma Annette and Aunt Jen. I was told that you did well for Grandma and Grandpa! But Grandpa did comment that when you want something (milk) you scream until you get it, this I know. Then when we dropped Cameron off to his Grandma's house they wanted to meet you too, so we went inside and met a dozen more people and you got passed around then too!
We went home for a second then we went to the annual Christmas Eve Party that was at Grandpa Frank's house this year. You again got passed around like crazy!! You had the cutest outfit on! It was a leopard print jacket and matching pants with little Mary Jane's. Aunt JoLynne and her family gave you a really cute pajama set. You hardly slept at all this day, but you remained to be happy.
Then Christmas Day you got absolutely spoiled!!! We went up to Grandma Shelly and Grandpa Glen's. You were dressed SO cute in a little pink and red sweater jumper (the one you're wearing in the pic above) I got you. You slept a little bit while we were there. You also got passed around as well. You were being so cute, smiling for everyone! You really are a happy baby!
The gifts you received were a Baby Einstein Discovery Center, a stuffed dog that talks and sings, an interactive book, a darling pink little outfit, an octopus that's tentacles make music, wrist rattles and a darling beanie from Aunt Britt that she got in Seattle.
Then we went to Grandma Annette's house for dinner, it was delicious!! You got a Lady Bug Pet Pillow from Grandma Annette and a darling little Ariel baby doll from Aunt Jen and Aunt Deb. We hung out there for a while.
Then we went to Grandpa Frank's house to exchange gifts. Grandpa Frank gave us money, he's not much of the shopping type. I am going to open a savings account for you with the money you received. We didn't stay there too long.
Oh and I gave all the Grandparents a picture and frame of you - the best gifts they received! Anyway, we were all exhausted. Sunday, the next day, you and I just stayed in bed all day, it was fantastic!! You and I cuddled and slept most of the day. You were such a trooper from all the traveling and being man-handled. I love and adore you SO much! Thank you for the best Christmas EVER!!!!

Happy Holiday!!

Dear Maizy,

You are truly SO amazing. Last night we went over to my friend's house, Tresa, she hadn't seen you in a long time. She was very impressed with your cuteness and smiling face. You are starting to smile a lot more and cry less. Maybe you know that Santa is watching you.
Well your slacker mom finally got a tree put up for you. You seem to love it and stare at it often. I am such a lucky, lucky person to get to share my holidays with you. I am SUPER excited to watch your face light up during the upcoming events. All of the sudden it seems like you have an interest in toys that obnoxiously light up and make noise. You didn't have this interest a week ago. My how you change and grow!!!

Happy Holidays Sweet Girl!!

Love you!

Ouch!!

Dearest Maizy,

Yesterday was your 4 month check-up with Dr. Palmieri. You did fantastic!!  Your doctor is very impressed with you.  Although you are quite small, you weighed in at 10 pounds 8 ounces, you are very alert, hold your head up very well and are right on track with your development. You were being a little wiggle worm that it took them a few to get your weight and check your heart beat.  The doc did comment that you have a good strong heart.

After all that it came time for your shots! I started crying the minute I saw the needles. You had to have 3!!!!  2 in your left leg and 1 in your right!!  Those needles are SUPER huge!!  You only cried for a minute and I cried for about 5.  Your dad gets right in there and holds you while you're getting it done.  I would but I'd probably hit the nurse for hurting you, so it's best I stand back and cry silently to myself.

You slept the rest of the afternoon and then we played the rest of the night when I got home. Although small you are full of love and personality.  I just get teary eyed when I think about how much I love and cherish you.  You are truly an amazing baby!!!!  And just SO dang cute.  We get compliments everywhere we go.

Even when you wake me up at 4 a.m. on a work night I still love you to pieces and just cuddle you to the very last minute I have to get out of bed and ready for work.

Thanks for being such a special gift!

Love you!!

Your Proud Mommy

Santa is coming to town!!

Dear Maizy,

We took you to go see the lights at Temple Square last night.  We got you all nice and bundled up!  You wore the cutest little warm, Christmas onesie thing over your outfit.  You looked SUPER adorable!!  You fell asleep on the way downtown and continued to sleep all the way until we got home again.  You missed the lights!  But your father and I had a great time, people watching, talking all silly (in an accent of sorts) and pushing you around in your stroller.  Next year we'll be sure to go back and I bet you'll enjoy it much, much more.  This is going to be a family tradition of ours for sure.  Downtown is one of my fave places to be.  I just love the hustle and bustle, the tall and old buildings, hearing the church bells and seeing all kinds of people.  I hope you enjoy it too or even find your own favorite things you enjoy about the place we live.

Thank you for being such a good, good baby! You make me proud every day and I love your face!!

After seeing this pic - who wouldn't!?!?!

4 Months Old!!

Dear Maizy,

You are now 4 months old.  You are as beautiful as ever.   You are discovering your voice and starting to use it more and more, I have never heard a voice so sweet.  Although you are hard to understand since you like to talk with at least one, if not both your hands in your mouth.

We pierced your ears and they look darling!!  We went to the mall after your immunizations.  You did SO good.  You cried for a minute was all.  When I went and paid the cashier asked if I was ok - I guess I looked a little pale.

Your First Christmas is approaching. I am super, super excited!!  Christmas is one of my favorite holidays.  I love seeing family and friends and exchanging little gifts that reflect how you think and feel about that person.

I just can feel my heart swelling up with love for you.  I think about all that I want to teach and show you.

Please know that there is no limit to what you want to achieve and I am here for you, to support you along the way!! The possibilities are endless my dear!

Love you!

Love,
Mom
