Some many firsts!!!

Dear Maizy,

First and foremost I want to apolgize for taking SO long to post.  I know it's not an acceptable excuse but work has been crazy busy and that is when I tend to blog.

Well as you can see in the adorable pic below of your beautiful smiling face and my big grin, you went on your first ever carousel ride.  It was Saturday May 14th for Alexia Hatch's 4 birthday party.  I wasn't plan on us attending, but we were having a heck of a day at home and needed to get out - after the plumber banging on the tub, the roofers roofing, the toilet flooding, ants taking over the kitchen and the a/c not working we were outta the house!!

Anyway, so we went to Jungle Jim's in Midvale for the party.  You were loving all the kids running around, you and I went on a few rides and you even had some birthday cake. We attended the party with Grandma Shelly - dad was working that afternoon, and her and I were getting the biggest kick out of you!!  You are my little bestie and I couldn't be a more proud mama!!

Thursday May 19th you, me and Grandma Shelly went out to dinner to Ho Ho Gourmet in Bountiful - this used to be one of my fave places upon a time, it wasn't as tasty as I remembered it.  Well you were just cracking me and Grandma up! You clapped for me for the first time - others claim you have clapped before, but this was the first I've seen of it and by golly you are good at it!  You were even making the clapping sound with your tiny hands.  You also for the first time for me reached your arms and hands way above your head when I said, "So Big!!"  It melted my heart!!

You are growing and changing SO fast that I try to record and make notes of all your firsts, but I need to be better at it.

Last night, Wednesday June 1st you stood for the first time for a really long time!!  Seriously like half a minute AT LEAST!!!  It was a amazing.  Daddy and I praised you up and down, so you did it a few more times.  It definitely brought a tear to my eye. You will be walking very soon!!

You are starting to babble more, you always want to feed yourself - sometimes I let you,  you can drink out of your sippy cup without any help and you love my cell and the t.v. remote controls to play with.

I have SOOOOO much more to tell you, but I am leaving work to go hang with you!!!!

Love you sweet baby girl!!

Mother's Day!!!

Dear Maizy,

It was my very first Mother's Day and what a terrific one it was.  You and I slept in until about 10:30am.  My favorite thing in the world is waking up, leaning over to watch you sleep and rub your back and hear your little breaths you take.  My other favorite thing is leaning over and watching you wake up in your crib and see you rub your eyes, listen to you make your little noises, watch you play, and then you look up and smile at me with your bed head - it melts my heart!  You are so full of life, love and personality!!  I got to do all of these things this weekend and that is what especially makes Monday's hard for me.

Oh on a side note.  Saturday night was the first night we made dinner in our new place.  Your dad made us delicious chicken enchiladas.  Can I just say how happy we are to be in our new place and making a home together!?!?  I LOVE it!!!!

After you and I woke up your dad handed me your Mother's Day card  and it had your adorable little hand prints in it, brought tears to my eyes.  You also had your signature bites marks and slobber around the envelope - my fave!

Then we all went downstairs where I was surprised with a big beautiful gift - an upright jewelry box, it is absolutely gorgeous!  Then we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast while our "real" breakfast of eggs, ham and toast was being made.  You sat in your "big girl" chair for the first time while  I fed you toast and juice.  You are absolutely hilarious!  You love to blow bubbles with your mouth and even when it's full of food, pull hair and just laugh and smile at everything!  You make my world SO much better than I could ever imagine.  I am so incredibly lucky and absolutely blessed to be your mom.  You are mine, all mine!  I wonder how I got so freaking lucky!

I stayed in my pajamas all day.  Plus I was feeling under the weather, so you and I didn't leave the house all day, it was perfect!  You and I watched Tangled and played.  I tried to get as much unpacking and organizing done as I could.  You are such a curious little girl and want to be right where the action is.  You really are a good little helper!

You are too busy nowadays to have your diaper changed.  You move and try to crawl away - you don't cooperate at all during the process.  You love your baths!  I love giving you baths and playing in the water with you. I gave you a bath Sunday morning before your mid-morning nap and we played and played.  You are a great little eater.  You try everything and if you like it you'll eat a ton of it.  Right now you are taking a liking to mashed potatoes.

Your dad made me a wonderful dinner of his famous salmon and asparagus, it was delicious!

This weekend was an amazing weekend.  I love the time that we get to spend together.  You are perfect! You are growing way faster than I ever imagined and it makes me sad, but at the same time I love watching you learn and change.  I am a lucky, lucky mom!!

Thanks for the wonderful Mother's Day!

Love you!

Cinco de Mayo

Dear Maizy,

Yesterday was your first Cinco de Mayo and what a great one it was.  I got home from work.  You woke up and we played and played. Then we went downstairs and I put you in your Einstein and danced for you to some Mexican tunes!  You were quite entertained.  Then your dad got home, put on his sombrero and joined me!  You were cracking up and dancing in your Einstein. It was a lot of fun!  Then you said "mama" it was the best thing ever!!  You brought a tear to your dad's eye and smile to my heart!!  I love you SO much!!

We hung out and continued the dance party! You dad and I indulged in a margarita to celebrate the evening.

Then later into the evening we got your in your jammies and headed over to Brindy's new place.  Your Aunt Britt was there so we joined her.  Brindy's new place is darling.  You crawled around a bit and explored! We didn't stay long.  We went home and to bed we went!!

I am SOOOOOO looking forward to the weekend. We have lots to unpack, put away and decorate!!  YAY!!  I can't wait to put your room together!!

Love you very much!

We did it!!!!

Dear Maizy,

We did it!  We did it!!  We moved!!! YAY!!!!  We found a place after the one that we found in Sugarhouse fell through.  We now call a condo in North Salt Lake home. I am over the moon excited.  Excited to get away from those we lived with.  Excited to have our own space. Excited to have a loving home that I take pride in.  Excited to decorate - especially your room!  I can't wait for the summer time so we can bbq, take walks to the park and hang out outside, it's been a long Winter hear I've been looking forward to our own place the minute we moved into the previous one!

Thursday I went on my lunch break to look at the place and liked it!  We have looked at a lot of crap and this place was actually quite quaint and cute.  It has brand new carpet - a plus for you my little crawler face.  New appliances.  Our own tiny backyard.  Little homey complex.  Freeway access.  It isn't the most beautiful place, it's not forever, but it works great for us now.

Thursday after work we met the landlord and he gave us the keys right there and then!  It was awesome.

After we got the keys we drove around checked out the area.  We stopped at a cute little diner called Kitty Pappas and had a celebratory dinner!!!  It's actually a cute little area.  We're only about 5 miles away from Grandma Shelly, so she is super excited about that.

Friday night we slept at the place.  We took all of our cleaning supplies to make it spic and span, but it actually needed more TLC than we planned on.

You did not sleep well there at all.  We made a nice bed for all of us on the floor and you cried the majority of the night. SAD!!  Saturday we went home and got ready for the day. You and I went up to Grandma Donker's to celebrate her birthday then when we got home we helped your dad pack.  Your father and I stayed up until 5:30am packing and loading Grandpa Frank's trailer.  Sunday we woke up early and got busy again!  That's when I took these pictures of you.  I ran across your dad's Halloween wig.  I put it on you and laughed SO hard and then you started laughing because you knew you were being funny!  I love you SO much!! Anyway, so we worked our tails off. We wanted to get out of there a.s.a.p. We finally got packed at 4pm Sunday afternoon.  Grandma Shelly and Aunt Brittany, she came in town Sunday, came and got you and you hung out with them while your father and I finished loading up then unpacking at the new place.  They had a blast with you! Your father and I missed you a ton, but you had more fun with the girls and we definitely got a lot done!!

Sunday night the girls finally brought you back about 8:30pm and your dad ran the truck and trailer back to Salt Lake, so we played until he got back.  Then I finally showered and we went to bed.  It was kind of surreal being at the new place and really grasp that it's our new home!

Well I hope you enjoy our new home as much as I do!!  I can't wait to decorate your room and make it what I always envisioned for you!  I love you!! And always want the best for you!

Thank you for being so funny and such a good, good baby!

Love you!

Home Sweet Home

Dear Maizy,

We found us a home to live in.  YAY!!!!  Since you were born we have been living in the upstairs of your Grandma Annette's house with Paul, your dad's brother, his girlfriend and her three children.  It worked for us somewhat, ok who am I kidding, it's been awful!!  We can't take it any longer, so we searched and found a place for us to make a home.  We haven't really had a home since you were born. We are over-the-moon thrilled!  We found it online yesterday, I went and looked at it on my lunch and by dinner time the landlord was handing over the keys.

The location is not ideal and the neighbor is a crazy cat lady, but the place has brand new carpet for you to crawl around on and it has lots of crawling room for you! We are going there tonight to clean and make the place all shiny, pack up Saturday and move in Sunday!!

You will have your own room that I can not wait to decorate!!  And you will finally have your crib setup for you to play in because Lord knows you don't like to sleep!  ; )

I am so excited to fill this home with love, positivity, happiness, smiles and fun - everything else the "other place" lacks - BIG TIME!!  When you are older will tell you all about it and I always say to your father "thank God Maizy is too young to know what's going on in this house and thank God she will not remember it."  Let's just say the place is corrupt.

Whew ok so you get the picture!  In this new place of ours we will be closer to Grandma Shelly and she couldn't be happier!!!! I am happy too!

Another thing your father and I are SUPER excited about is to cook!!!  I haven't cooked in almost a year and now we'll have  kitchen of our own to utilize!! YAY!!!  We joke about who's cooking you'll like more - mine or your dad's!

Last night after we got our keys to our new home we drove around the area (I swore to myself I would never live in Davis County) and we found that we are going to be really happy there.  I am going to get online today and find the nearest parks and library, so we can frequent them this summer.

We found a cute little diner to eat at, Kitty and Pappas Steakhouse, it is an old diner and has been around for 64 years.  I am sure we will find our fave places to go.

I love you and am SO excited for this new chapter of our life.

Love you Funny Girl!

36 Weeks Old!!!

L.O.V.E. this picture of you.  You have the best profile and you're just SO happy!
I'd like to think I have something to do with that!
Love you!

Dear Maizy,

You have been in this crazy world now for 36 weeks!  I hope that you're enjoying it so far.  I know that I am. It's so crazy when I think back on how small you were and how much you have grown, changed and learn.

You know SO much!

You know almost how to get out of your play pen,  you know how to get out of your Bumbo,  you know to ease yourself slowly down from things so you don't fall, you know what foods you like and don't like (there are more on the like list), you know how your toys work and what they do,  you know your name,  I think you know the word "no", but pretend that you don't! Ha ha ha!

You know how to rip out mama's hoop earrings out of my ear, you know your Grandma's and get happy when you see them, you know when it's bath time and get super excited and kick those little chubber legs of yours! You know when we're getting ready to go somewhere and you get all smiley for our adventure. You know when you've been in the car too long!

You know when it's story time and you sit in my lap so well and read books with me.
You know that mommy and daddy can't resist your smile and will always smile back at you!  You know that I will give you whatever you want.

You know how to climb on things and make it more interesting and adventurous!  You know that you hate having your diaper changed.

You know that your mommy and daddy love you very much and would do anything for you!

The point is I could go on and on about what you now know and you're only 36 weeks old!  You are a very smart, happy, bright, energetic girl and I love you always and forever!

Thanks for being SO awesome!

I love that big heart of yours in such a little girl!

Love,
mommy
